FOLOU Launches New Online Course on Technological Innovation in Food Loss Measurement and Management

01/06/2026

The FOLOU project has launched its third online training course on the Ubiqua learning platform of the University of Vic–Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC).

The new course, “Technological Innovation in Food Loss Measurement and Management”, explores how innovative technologies can help measure, manage, and reduce food loss across the agri-food sector.

The course is aimed at stakeholders in the primary production sector, including producers, farm advisors, buyers, equipment manufacturers, and researchers. Through practical examples and self-guided learning materials, participants will discover technological solutions that can support more sustainable food production practices.

Participants will learn to:

  • Interpret the benefits and limitations of food loss technologies
  • Appraise agricultural technologies used to reduce food loss
  • Identify opportunities for applying technological solutions in different contexts

The course is free, fully online, and accessible through the Ubiqua platform. Learners who complete the training can also obtain a certificate badge. While the course builds on previous FOLOU training modules, no prior participation is required.
