Europe produces 275 Mt of cereals and pulses. The case study on grain and pulses will be held in Italy (UNIVPM). The methodology will be validated by using maize as a reference cereal, this case study will include the validation of innovative solutions. Maize is one of the most important EU cereals with a total production of 67.8 Mt/year (24% of total cereal production) and a total cultivated area of 9.4 Mha.
