The FOLOU project partners invite you to their webinar on setting up Twinning Regions, as part of the project objectives.
This webinar aims at
The Twinning Regions Programme is an initiative promoted by the FOLOU project partners to help European regions and their actors tackle the challenge of food losses detection, quantification and reporting in the primary production sector.
In a recent publication, the Joint Research Center of the European Commission has estimated that about 25M tons of food were lost at the primary production stage in 2020 across the EU-27. This equates to 57 kg/person per year. At the same time, with the recently approved European Climate Law, the intermediate greenhousegas emission reduction targets for 2030 has been increased, calling for an increased effort in emissions reduction from the agricultural sector if we are to reach the goal of a climate neutral Europe by 2050.
Through the participation to the program, FOLOU Twinning Regions will have the opportunity to strengthen their multi-actor and participative approach to address the food loss challenges.
On 29 October, the FOLOU project partners will present their Twinning Regions Programme, what the programme is about, how it is structured, why it is beneficial for your regions and their actors to join the programme, and what kind of activities you can expect to perform if you are selected as a FOLOU Twinning Region.
You can register your interest in attending the meeting on October 29, 2024, by filling in the registration form (see below).
When? Tuesday 29 October, from 10h tot 12h.
