Barcelona will welcome experts from academia, public institutions, and industry for the 1st Congress on Food Loss and Waste on 22 September 2026, from 9:00 to 17:30 at the Institut d’Estudis Catalans. Organized by the Departament d’Agricultura, Ramaderia, Pesca i Alimentació of the Generalitat de Catalunya—with the support of the Agència de Residus de Catalunya (ARC), the Associació Catalana de Ciències de l’Alimentació (ACCA), and the Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación (MAPA), and in collaboration with CREDA, IRTA, BETA, and Fundació Espigoladors—.
The congress will provide a platform to assess the current state of food loss and waste while fostering dialogue on practical solutions. The programme will include thematic sessions on impact assessment, the food supply chain, circular economy strategies, public policies, and social innovation, alongside roundtable discussions and dedicated networking opportunities.
