Europe produces 5.1 Mt/year of fishes. The case study on aquaculture and fisheries will be held by NORCE in Norway which is the largest aquaculture producer in Europe and has an existing system of food loss accounting. The methodology will be validated by using salmon farming as reference fish which relies on sophisticated technologies to monitor production sites. Norway produces 56% of the EU salmon and salmon represents 25% of the total EU aquaculture production. Due to the heterogeneity between aquaculture production systems in Europe, trade-offs for protocol using different technological solutions will be considered.
