FOOD 2030 Networks Conference (5-7 March)
FOLOU will be attending the FOOD 2030 Networks Conference on the 5th of March in Brussel, Belgium!
AGENDA FOR THE EVENT:
Day 1: Workshop for Projects – Tuesday 05 March from 12.00 to 17.00
Conference day devoted to a hybrid workshop for projects, partnerships and networks in the FOOD 2030 Project Collaboration Network
the FOOD 2030 Project Collaboration Network represented on Day 1: Workshop for projects, where we will focus on coordinating cross-project collaboration on common objectives for transforming the agriculture and food system through policy, innovation, business development, education, public engagement, dissemination and communication.
- After registration and lunch from 12.00 to 13.00, we will officially start the workshop with welcome and updates from 13.00 to 13.30 before moving into the highly interactive breakout sessions from 13.30 to 16.30 where we are going to work on selected vertical themes and common objectives depending on the number of sign-ups.
- The selected breakout sessions on vertical themes will be facilitated by representatives from the CLEVERFOOD project.
- The selected breakout sessions on common objectives will be facilitated by representatives from projects in the FOOD 2030 Project Collaboration Network that have confirmed their interest in collaborating on these common objectives (see the attached document ‘Matchmaking of projects for potential collaboration on common objectives’).
- More information about how to organize cross-project collaboration on common objectives and facilitate breakout sessions at the FOOD 2030 Networks Conference will follow in a separate e-mail.
- Following the breakout sessions there will be a wrap-up and closing of the workshop for projects from 16.30 to 17.00 followed by networking and drinks from 17.00 to 19.00.
Day 2: Platform for Innovators – Wednesday 06 March from 09.00-17.00
Open conference day focusing on technological, social and governance innovation for transforming the agriculture and food system
the FOOD 2030 Project Collaboration Network represented on Day 2: bringing together of living labs and innovators working on technological, social, governance-, and market-driven solutions for transforming the agriculture and food system, to explore synergies and share experiences on how to overcome barriers, accelerate innovation, secure financing and increase market uptake.
- After registration and coffee from 8.30 to 9.30 we will officially start the workshop with a welcome and introduction to the FOOD 2030 Connected Lab Network from 9.30 to 9.45, followed by a keynote speech from 9.45 to 10.15 before moving into the first round of parallel breakout sessions from 10.30 to 11.30 that will focus on overcoming barriers and accelerating innovation.
- After a panel sessions with rapporteurs from the first round of breakout sessions from 11.45 to 12.30 there will be lunch break and networking from 12.30 to 14.00, followed by a second keynote speech from 14.00 to 14.30 and the second round of parallel breakout sessions from 14.45 to 15.45 that will focus on securing financing and increasing market uptake.
- Day 2 will end with a coffee break from 15.45 to 16.15 followed by a panel session with rapporteurs from the second round of breakout sessions from 16.15 to 17.00 and an optional study visit in collaboration with the Brussels Regions from 17.00 to 18.30.
Day 3: Dialogue with Policymakers – Thursday 07 March from 09.00 to 16.00
Open conference day focusing on policies for removing lock-ins and providing support for transformative innovation and socio-technical transition of the agriculture and food system
the FOOD 2030 Project Collaboration Network represented on Day 3: fostering of a dialogue with policymakers and civil servants at different governance levels on removing lock-ins and providing support for transformative innovation and socio-technical transition of the agriculture and food system
- After a welcome address by the conference hosts from the Belgian Presidency, the Brussels Region and the Flanders Region from 9.00 to 9.45 there will be a keynote speech from 9.45 to 10.15 followed by a report from the “Platform for innovators” breakout sessions on Day 2 from 10.15 to 10.30, and a coffee break from 10.30 to 11.00
- During the subsequent Rotating panel session I from 11.00 to 12.30: What are the local, national and EU policies that we need for supporting transformative food system innovation? – invited panelists and conference participants will share their experiences and views on what are the opportunities, challenges and barriers for transformative food system innovation that should be addressed by local, national and EU governments – and discuss how these governments can support living labs working on technological, social and governance innovations for transforming the food system in rural and urban areas.
- Lunch break and networking will take place from 12.30 to 14.00 and during the subsequent Rotating panel session I from 14.00 to 15.30: How can the development of EU policies on food eco-labelling support transformative food system innovation? – invited panelists and conference participants will zoom in on the current status for food eco-labelling in the EU and discuss the associated opportunities and challenges, including what kind of eco-labelling would support transformative food system innovation and which policies are needed for advancing the development and implementation of eco-food labelling
- The rotating panel sessions will include an “open chair” where conference participants can take a seat to share their experiences and/or viewpoints, and in the registration form you are encouraged to indicate if you would be interested in taking a seat in the open chair during the rotating panel sessions. There will also be an option for conference participants to engage with the panelists using their mobile devices.
- Day 3 will end with closing of the conference from 15.30 to 16.00
